What is Tagger?

A 'tagger' is a general term for a tool or system that automatically assigns metadata tags to data, such as text, images, or audio. In natural language processing (NLP), a common type of tagger is a Part-of-Speech (POS) tagger, which identifies the grammatical role of each word in a sentence (e.g., noun, verb, adjective). In image processing, a tagger might identify objects, scenes, or concepts within an image. Taggers are used for various applications, including information retrieval, content organization, machine translation, and sentiment analysis.
