What is ELISpot?

ELISpot (Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSpot) is a highly sensitive immunological assay used to detect and quantify cytokine-secreting cells at a single-cell level. It is commonly used to monitor cellular immune responses in infectious diseases, cancer immunotherapy, vaccine development, and autoimmune disorders. It works by capturing cytokines secreted by cells on an antibody-coated membrane, which are then detected using enzyme-linked antibodies, resulting in visible spots that represent individual cytokine-secreting cells.
