SoftLayer was a cloud infrastructure provider that offered bare metal servers, virtual servers, networking, and storage services. It was acquired by IBM and integrated into IBM Cloud. While the SoftLayer brand is no longer actively used, the underlying infrastructure and many of the services are still available through IBM Cloud's infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) offerings. It was commonly used for hosting websites, applications, and databases, as well as for disaster recovery and other cloud-based solutions.
