What is MOSFET?

A MOSFET (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor) is a type of transistor widely used for switching and amplifying electronic signals in electronic devices. It's the most common transistor in digital circuits. MOSFETs are used in everything from microprocessors and memory chips to power supplies and audio amplifiers. They operate by controlling the voltage on an insulated gate, which in turn controls the flow of current between the source and drain terminals.
