What is Mod bus?
Modbus is a serial communication protocol originally published by Modicon (now Schneider Electric) in 1979 for use with its programmable logic controllers (PLCs). In simple terms, it is used to transmit data over serial lines between electronic devices. Typically, one device is a Master and the others are Slaves. The Master requests data from the Slaves. It is commonly used in industrial automation systems to connect devices such as sensors, actuators, and controllers.
