What is IATF 16949:2016?

IATF 16949:2016 is an internationally recognized quality management system standard for the automotive industry. It is based on the ISO 9001 standard and includes specific requirements for automotive production, service, and accessory parts organizations. It defines the requirements for a QMS when an organization: needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements; and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
