HART (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer) is a digital industrial automation protocol. It is commonly used for smart field devices. HART uses the Bell 202 Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) standard to overlay digital information on top of the 4–20 mA analog signal. This allows simultaneous analog and digital communication, enabling remote diagnostics, configuration, and advanced control capabilities.
