What is flip chip?

Flip chip is a method of electrically connecting silicon dies to substrates, such as printed circuit boards or other integrated circuits, without using wire bonds. It is done by "flipping" the die so that its active side faces down and then connecting it to the substrate using solder bumps or other conductive materials. This allows for shorter interconnects, lower inductance, and better heat dissipation compared to traditional wire bonding.
