What is QS9000?

QS-9000 was a quality management system standard defined by the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) for automotive suppliers. It was based on ISO 9000 but included additional requirements specific to the automotive industry, focusing on continuous improvement, defect prevention, and reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain. QS-9000 is now obsolete, having been replaced by ISO/TS 16949 (and subsequently IATF 16949), which is the current international standard for automotive quality management systems.
