What is Policy Routing?

Policy routing, also known as policy-based routing (PBR), is a technique used in computer networking to make routing decisions based on policies set by network administrators rather than solely on the destination IP address. It allows for more granular control over traffic flow by considering factors such as source IP address, application type, or time of day. It is commonly used to prioritize traffic, implement quality of service (QoS), or route traffic through specific paths based on security or performance requirements.
