What is ISO/TS?

ISO/TS stands for International Organization for Standardization/Technical Specification. A Technical Specification (TS) is a document published when the technical matter is still under development or where there is the future but not immediate possibility of agreement on an International Standard. It's a preparatory stage document. ISO/TS documents are often used to provide requirements, recommendations, or guidance, but with a lower level of consensus than a full ISO standard. They are frequently used in areas where technology is evolving rapidly or where there is not yet sufficient data to create a full standard. Once sufficient evidence and consensus are established, the TS can be converted into an International Standard (ISO).
