What is GPRS?

GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) is a packet-oriented mobile data standard on the 2G and 3G cellular communication network's global system for mobile communications (GSM). It provides moderate-speed data transfer, by using unused TDMA channels in the GSM network. It is commonly used for mobile internet access, MMS messaging, and other data applications on mobile devices.
