What is DCS systems?

A Distributed Control System (DCS) is a computerized control system for a process or plant, typically with many control loops, in which autonomous controllers are distributed throughout the system, but there is central operator supervisory control. DCS systems are used to control industrial processes such as oil and gas, power generation, water and wastewater treatment, and manufacturing. They typically involve sensors, controllers, and actuators communicating over a network to maintain desired process conditions.
