What is CPL?
CPL most commonly refers to the Combined Programming Language. It was a pioneering programming language developed in the 1960s at the University of Cambridge and the University of London. Although CPL itself wasn't widely adopted, it was influential in the development of later languages, most notably BCPL and ultimately C. It aimed to provide a powerful and flexible language for a wide range of applications, but was considered complex to implement. BCPL was a simplified version of CPL, which then led to the development of C.
