What is Coot?

Coot is a molecular-graphics program for model building and validation of macromolecular structures using X-ray crystallography or electron microscopy data. It allows users to manually build, refine, and validate atomic models of proteins, nucleic acids, and other biological molecules based on electron density maps. It's commonly used in structural biology to interpret experimental data and create accurate 3D models of biomolecules.
