What is Zero Trust Security?

Zero Trust Security is a security framework based on the principle of "never trust, always verify." It assumes that no user or device, whether inside or outside the network perimeter, should be automatically trusted. Instead, every access request is strictly verified before being granted. This involves authenticating and authorizing users and devices, validating security posture, and providing least-privilege access. It is commonly used to reduce the attack surface, prevent lateral movement, and protect sensitive data.
