What is Zellkultur?

Zellkultur, or cell culture, refers to the process of growing cells in a controlled environment outside of their natural biological context. These cells can be isolated from multicellular organisms and grown in vitro. Cell culture is a fundamental tool in biological and medical research, used for a wide range of applications including studying cell biology, drug discovery and development, toxicity testing, and the production of vaccines and therapeutic proteins.
