What is Windows Active Directory Services?

Windows Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) is a directory service that Microsoft developed for Windows domain networks. It is used to manage users and computers, assign and enforce security policies, and install software. AD DS centrally manages authentication and authorization within a network, making it easier for administrators to manage network resources and security.
