What is Win 8?

Windows 8 is a personal computer operating system that was produced by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. It was released to manufacturing in August 2012, and broadly released for retail sale in October 2012. Windows 8 introduced a redesigned user interface based on Microsoft's Metro design language, optimized for touch-based devices like tablets, in addition to traditional mouse and keyboard input. Common uses include general computing tasks, such as web browsing, document creation, media consumption, and running applications.
