What is VMD?

VMD (Visual Molecular Dynamics) is a molecular visualization program for displaying, animating, and analyzing large biomolecular systems using 3-D graphics and built-in scripting. It is often used to visualize the results of molecular dynamics simulations, analyze trajectories, and prepare publication-quality images and movies of biomolecules like proteins and nucleic acids.
