What is View Model?

A View Model is a design pattern used in software development, particularly in UI-related contexts like Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM). It acts as an intermediary between the View (UI) and the Model (data). The View Model is responsible for preparing and exposing the data that the View needs, in a format that is easily consumed by the View. It also handles the View's interaction logic, such as commands or events, and translates them into actions that operate on the Model. Unlike the Model, the View Model is specifically tailored to the View's requirements and can contain presentation-specific logic. This promotes testability, maintainability, and separation of concerns.
