A Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), also known as a network analyzer or RF network analyzer, is an instrument that measures the network parameters of electrical networks. It is primarily used to characterize the electrical behavior of components and circuits, especially at radio frequencies (RF), microwave, and millimeter-wave frequencies. VNAs transmit a known signal through the device under test (DUT) and measure the magnitude and phase of the signal that is transmitted or reflected. This information is used to determine properties such as impedance, S-parameters (scattering parameters), return loss, insertion loss, and group delay. Common applications include antenna design and testing, filter characterization, amplifier design, and cable testing.
