What is UDDI?

UDDI (Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration) is a platform-independent, XML-based registry for businesses worldwide to list themselves on the Internet. It enables businesses to discover each other and define how they interact over the Internet. UDDI was intended to be a core component of Web services, allowing businesses to find and connect with services offered by other businesses. While it saw initial interest, its adoption declined significantly, and public UDDI registries are largely defunct. Private UDDI registries are still used to some extent within organizations.
