What is TSA?

TSA stands for Transportation Security Administration. It is an agency of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security that has authority over the security of transportation systems within, connecting to, and originating in the United States. It is commonly known for airport security screening of passengers and baggage, but also has responsibilities related to other modes of transportation like mass transit, railroads, and pipelines.
