What is TrustZone?
TrustZone is a System-on-Chip (SoC) security extension developed by ARM Holdings. It divides the SoC into two virtual worlds: a 'Secure World' and a 'Normal World'. The Secure World provides a protected environment for sensitive operations like secure boot, DRM, and secure payment processing, while the Normal World runs the standard operating system (e.g., Android). Hardware and software mechanisms ensure isolation between the two worlds, preventing unauthorized access from the Normal World to the Secure World. TrustZone technology is commonly used to protect sensitive data and operations on mobile devices and other embedded systems.
