What is TPC/IP?

TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) is a suite of communication protocols used to interconnect network devices on the internet. It's also used as a communications protocol in a private computer network (an intranet or an extranet). The entire Internet protocol suite is commonly referred to as TCP/IP. It's a layered model defining how data should be packetized, addressed, transmitted, routed, and received. TCP provides reliable, ordered, and error-checked delivery of a stream of bytes between applications running on hosts communicating via an IP network. IP defines addressing methods and structures for datagrams (packets) to route data between hosts.
