What is Tango?

Google's Project Tango was a technology platform that used computer vision to enable mobile devices to understand their position relative to the world around them without using GPS or other external signals. It used specialized hardware and software to perform real-time 3D motion tracking, area learning, and depth perception. While the project was discontinued in favor of ARCore, its innovations paved the way for advancements in augmented reality.
