What is StatsD?

StatsD is a network daemon that listens for UDP packets containing metrics. It aggregates these metrics over a configurable flush interval and then emits them to a configurable backend service, such as Graphite, InfluxDB, or Prometheus. It's commonly used for collecting application performance metrics, such as request latency, error rates, and resource utilization. The separation of aggregation from storage makes it efficient and scalable.
