What is Stagefright?
Stagefright was the name given to a group of software bugs discovered in 2015 affecting Android operating systems. These vulnerabilities resided in the Android media framework, specifically in the code responsible for processing multimedia messages (MMS). A successful exploit could allow an attacker to remotely execute arbitrary code on a victim's device simply by sending a specially crafted MMS, without requiring any interaction from the user. It posed a significant security risk to a large number of Android devices.
