What is SSI?
SSI stands for Server Side Includes. It is a simple server-side scripting language used almost exclusively for serving static HTML pages. SSI directives are embedded within HTML pages and are evaluated by the web server as the pages are served. Common uses include including dynamic content such as the current date/time, file modification dates, or the contents of other files into web pages. It is generally considered outdated and less secure compared to more modern server-side technologies.
