What is SRST?
SRST stands for Survivable Remote Site Telephony. It is a Cisco IOS software feature that provides call-processing functionality for IP phones at remote sites during a WAN outage. In essence, if the connection to the central call processing server (e.g., Cisco Unified Communications Manager) is lost, SRST enables the IP phones at the remote site to continue making and receiving calls, using the local router as a backup call processor.
