What is SPF?

Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is an email authentication method designed to prevent email spoofing. It allows domain owners to specify which mail servers are authorized to send email on behalf of their domain. SPF records are published in the DNS records for a domain and are checked by recipient mail servers to verify the sender's authenticity. If a message fails the SPF check, the recipient server can take various actions, such as rejecting the message, quarantining it, or marking it as suspicious.
