What is Sparkplug B?

Sparkplug B is an open-source software specification that defines how MQTT clients can provide a contextualized data model for industrial assets. It enables 'state awareness' by defining a standard Topic Namespace, Payload Encoding and Session State Management. This allows MQTT infrastructure to be aware of the health and status of MQTT enabled devices, sensors, equipment and processes.
