What is Software Defined Networks?

Software-Defined Networking (SDN) is an architecture that decouples the network control and forwarding planes, enabling network control to become directly programmable and the underlying infrastructure to be abstracted from applications and network services. This separation allows network administrators to manage network traffic dynamically and efficiently from a centralized control console without requiring physical access to network devices.
