Sinker EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining), also known as ram EDM or die-sinking EDM, is a manufacturing process where a shaped electrode is used to erode a workpiece to create a desired cavity or shape. The electrode and workpiece are submerged in a dielectric fluid, and a controlled electrical discharge (spark) is generated between them. This spark erodes the material of the workpiece, replicating the shape of the electrode. It's commonly used for creating complex shapes in hard materials that are difficult to machine with traditional methods.
