What is SignalR?

SignalR is an open-source library that simplifies adding real-time web functionality to applications. It allows server-side code to push content to connected clients instantly as it becomes available, rather than having the server constantly polled by the client. SignalR supports a variety of transport mechanisms, automatically selecting the best available option based on the client and server capabilities (e.g., WebSockets, Server-Sent Events, Long Polling).
