**Service Registry**

What is Service Registry?

A service registry is a database containing the network locations of service instances. Service instances register themselves with the service registry upon startup and deregister themselves upon shutdown. Clients then query the service registry to discover the available service instances. It is commonly used in microservice architectures to enable service discovery, load balancing, and dynamic scaling. Examples include Consul, Eureka, and etcd.
