SCUP, which stands for System Center Updates Publisher, was a tool developed by Microsoft that allowed organizations to import and publish third-party software updates into their System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) environment. It essentially bridged the gap between SCCM and non-Microsoft software, allowing administrators to manage and deploy updates for applications like Adobe Reader, Java, and other common business software through the familiar SCCM console. Microsoft has deprecated SCUP, and it is no longer supported. Its functionality has largely been replaced by other means of software update management.
