What is Route/Switch?

Routing and switching are fundamental networking technologies. Routers direct network traffic between different networks by examining the destination IP address of data packets and forwarding them along the most efficient path. Switches operate within a network, forwarding traffic between devices on the same network segment by using MAC addresses. They are used to efficiently manage data flow within a local area network (LAN).
