What is RoomDB?

Room is a persistence library, part of the Android Jetpack, that provides an abstraction layer over SQLite. It allows fluent database access while harnessing the full power of SQLite. Room takes care of mundane tasks that you used to handle with SQLiteOpenHelper, like thread management and SQL query validation at compile time. It is commonly used for local data storage in Android applications.
