What is RODI?

RODI stands for Reverse Osmosis Deionization. It is a water purification process that combines reverse osmosis (RO) with deionization (DI) to remove nearly all contaminants from water. Reverse osmosis uses pressure to force water through a semi-permeable membrane, filtering out larger particles and contaminants. Deionization then uses ion-exchange resins to remove dissolved ions, such as minerals and salts, that may have passed through the RO membrane. This process is commonly used to produce ultra-pure water for applications such as aquariums (especially reef tanks), laboratory research, electronics manufacturing, and pharmaceutical production.
