What is RIL?

RIL, or Radio Interface Layer, is an abstraction layer in mobile operating systems (like Android) that sits between the OS and the modem. It provides an interface for the operating system to communicate with the radio hardware (modem) to handle tasks such as making calls, sending SMS messages, and managing data connections. It essentially translates high-level OS commands into modem-specific instructions and vice-versa.
