What is RESTful interfaces?

RESTful interfaces, or RESTful APIs, are a way of designing networked applications based on Representational State Transfer (REST) architectural constraints. REST focuses on stateless, client-server communication where each request from a client to a server contains all the information needed to understand the request. RESTful APIs use standard HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, etc.) to perform operations on resources, which are identified by URLs. They are commonly used to build web services, mobile applications, and integrate different systems, promoting interoperability and scalability.
