What is REST standards?

REST (Representational State Transfer) is an architectural style for designing networked applications. It relies on a stateless, client-server, cacheable communications protocol, and in virtually all cases, the HTTP protocol is used. REST defines a set of constraints, such as using standard HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, etc.) to perform operations on resources, which are identified by URLs. It's commonly used for building web APIs because of its simplicity, scalability, and interoperability.
