What is Rest Service?

A REST (Representational State Transfer) service is an architectural style for building networked applications. It relies on a stateless, client-server, cacheable communications protocol, and commonly uses HTTP. REST services expose resources (data) that can be accessed and manipulated using standard HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE). They are widely used for building APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that allow different software systems to communicate with each other over the internet.
