What is REST-Schnittstellen?

REST-Schnittstellen (REST interfaces), often referred to as REST APIs (Representational State Transfer Application Programming Interfaces), are a software architectural style that defines a set of constraints to be used for creating Web services. REST APIs enable communication between different software systems over the internet, typically using HTTP protocol. They are commonly used for building web applications, mobile apps, and integrating various systems. REST APIs are stateless, meaning each request from the client to the server must contain all of the information needed to understand the request, without the server retaining any session data. Common operations include creating, reading, updating, and deleting (CRUD) resources, represented by URLs.
