What is RAP?

RAP (Rich Ajax Platform) is an open-source framework that enables developers to build and run rich, AJAX-based web applications using the Eclipse development model and APIs. It essentially allows you to create web applications using the same programming concepts as desktop Eclipse RCP (Rich Client Platform) applications, such as SWT (Standard Widget Toolkit). This enables reuse of code and expertise across different platforms.
