The Public Suffix List (PSL) is a list of all known public suffixes, maintained by Mozilla. A public suffix is one under which Internet users can (or historically could) directly register names. They are used by web browsers and other software to prevent cookies from being set for too broad a domain and for accurately determining the domain of a website. For example, 'co.uk' is a public suffix, so a cookie set for 'example.co.uk' should not be accessible by 'another-example.co.uk'.
