What is Portal for ArcGIS?

Portal for ArcGIS is a component of ArcGIS Enterprise that allows organizations to create and share maps, apps, and other geographic information with other people in the organization and optionally, with the public. It provides a web-based user interface for accessing and working with geographic data and tools.
