What is Pool?

In computer science, 'Pool' is a general term that can refer to various resource pools. Commonly, it refers to a collection of pre-initialized and readily available resources (like threads, memory, connections, or objects) that can be used and reused to avoid the overhead of creating and destroying them repeatedly. This improves performance and reduces resource contention, especially in high-demand situations. For example, a thread pool manages a collection of worker threads to handle multiple tasks concurrently, and a connection pool manages database connections to optimize database access.
